How the justice system operated under the anti-constitutional regime
A constitution is supposed to distribute power, protects rights but it didn’t do this
The emperor was not above the law, nazis destroyed the law, civil and commercial codes stay the same, criminal codes changed

If you did something one month ago, and the law went into effect today, you would be punished
Nazi law
Punish people for not breaking laws. Divided people into classifications (asocial elements, ect)
Nazi ideology
Protect the nation from an individual not vice versa
Special court
Created March 1933 after the fire decree. Focus on people taking advantage on war front. Three judges. No appeal. Sentences automatically carried out.
People’s Court
Cases of treason. Regular court, no habeas corpus. If you are arrested, you’re charged with a crime.

The government cares about what you do in your home and in public

They don’t care about what you do at home but they do care about what you do in public
Hitler’s ideal world
- Cultural creators: those who created everything good in the world
- Cultural bearers: didn’t create culture, but carried it forth (Slavs)
- Cultural destroyers: minorities he wanted eliminated
