Q

What are the differences between IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD, and IgE?

A

IgM is produced within the first 24 hours of infection, they are pentameric to make up for the fact that they have less binding affinity than IgG.

IgG is produced by primed B-cells and is more specific.

IgA is found mostly in mucous and secreted from B-cells in places such as MALT.

IgE is involved in allergic responses
