Mylohyoid
Wraps laterally under the chin (forms the floor of the mouth)
Digastric
Anterior and posterior belly; forms a triangle with the mandible
Geniohyoid
Extend from genial tubercles to hyoid bone
Stylohyoid
Extends from Styloid process to body of hyoid
Omohyoid
Divides the inferior portion of the ant cervical triangle into carotid and muscular triangles (superior); (inferior) divides post cervical triangle into occipital and subclavian triangles
Sternohyoid
(Left side) extend from the sternum to the body of the hyoid
Sternothyroid
Depresses thyroid cartilage and larynx
Thyrohyoid
Superficial to thyroid cartilage
Intrinsic tongue muscles
Change the shape of the tongue during mastication, speech and swallowing
Extrinsic tongue muscles
Moves the tongue and suspend and anchor it
Superior/inferior longitudinal
Tip to base
Transverse
Left and right
Vertical
Dorsum to ventral
Hypoglossus
Goes from great horn if mandible to lateral side of tooth
Styloglossus
Styloid process to lateral apex
