split thickness can be suturing to periosteum and can be positioned more apically. where ass full thickness doesnt have anything to suture to and has tendency to move more coronally

crown prep so you have more access and you can see better
what happens if you dont remove widows peak when doing a crown lengthening?
soft tissue will cover and bone could necrose

indications for crown lengthening
decay at or below margin, crack at margin with good amount of attachment, excessive wear, little interocclusal space, delayed passive eruption
what is the downfall of getting ortho extrusion in order to get more clinical crown?
the tooth converges so esthetically it could look different. looks okay in premolars
what is the consequence of ignoring invasion of biologic ?
loss of bone, attachment loss
whats more important when it comes to crown lengthening, the number on rx or the appearance?
appearance
how long should you wait for healing before making final restoration?
6-8-12 weeks. longer for anterior region so appearance is the best
how much does the margin move after healing of crown lengthening?
.5mm-1.2mm over 12mo
