Should tendins be stressed to heal them?
Yes, gradually load them (don’t let a pts pain go higher than 2/10 higher than where they started)
Why kind of exercise would you do w/ a highly irritable tendin?
Isometrics
Normaly after isometrics are done w/ an irritable tendin we move to concentric –> eccentric (can do them in either order)
* only added bonus w/ eccentric is that we get more muscle growth (hypertrophy)
tedin healting chain:
Isometric –> concentric –> eccentric –> plyometrics
What is a plyometric exercise?
Stretch then an explosive concentric action
- max stretch then concentric action
open kinetic chain = distal extremiety can move
Closed kinetic chain = distal extremeity can’t move
Should people w/ instability issues do closed chain or open chain movements?
Closed chain
