A

Closed Bidding

A

A system that the private sector uses to entertain bids. In this type of system, they are not restricted like government agencies and are permitted to decide on who they would like to bid. Bids are usually only entertained from people the owner has had prior contact with or good relations.

A

A

bid form is always included in the set of specifications and documents that the bidder acquires. Using this simple form allows the owner the ability to compares all bids in the same manner. The bid forms will show the price that the contractor agrees on as dictated by the contract documents

A

The time between the issued bid instructions and bidding due date is called the bidding period. During this time, there may be extra instructions, clarifications, revisions, or other document changes that can affect the bids.

At times, the owner may ask those bidding to supply prices for alternate construction or materials for the project.

Simply put, errors can and do occur in the specifications and construction documents. the
contractor must inform the client and designer of any concerns or issues

A

To see any unforseen conditions or any extra costs you may have to incorperate into your estimate that you may spot with your eye.
