A
- they advertise us products that are not useful
- ingredients that they advertise that we don’t actually know or don’t understand (we buy it sometimes even though we dont know what the ingredients mean)
- sometimes very misleading
- research shows that we buy products that include ingredients we don’t understand but because they are advertised as something really important or beneficial we tend to prefer this product more in comparison to the non-advertised ingredient.

what is the hedonic treadmill?
A
we buy things, not because we need them, but because of the way they are advertised, and they give us short term happiness. we end up buying things again and again because of this phenomenon.
