Q

Why is the Function of behavior important?

A
  1. Tells us what is causing/maintaining the behavior

2. Can use it to form our Function Based Intervention

Q

What is the ONE Indirect Method? and what does this include?

A
Indirect Assessments form hypothesis from gathering information from others that see the target behavior, this can be:
1. Interviews
2. rating scales/questionnaires
3. Review of existing records
and is the easiest.

Q

What are the Direct Methods? and what do they include?

A

Descriptive Assessments and Experimental Functional Assessments.
Descriptive Assessments is when you observe the persons behavior in the natural environment and behaviors are recorded as they happen.
An Experimental Functional Assessment tests the variables that cause/maintain behaviors.
