Lecture 2 Flashcards
1
Q
What is a frequency distribution ?
A
a method of organizing data by categorizing numbers based on the frequency of each numbers
2
Q
What are relative frequencies ?
A
what proportion would fall in any of the intervals
ROUND TO TWO DECIMALS
**f divided by N
3
Q
What is grouped frequencies distributions ?
A
group scores together
4
Q
What are culmative frequencies ?
A
Identify the number of number’s and add the number of scores in the bin below it
add f
5
Q
What are the rules of frequency distributions ?
A
- Every interval is mutually exclusive
- all intervals have the same width (i)
- intervals are continuous
- highest score is on top, lowest is at the bottom
- 1st # in a f.d must be a multiple of i
- the top and the bottom interval must have scores in them
- if scores falls on exact limit you need to set up a rule
- a good distribution would have more than 10 and less than 20 intervals
