Increased emphasis on assessment of suicide endpoints during drug development
- drug-induced suicide endpoints have historically been assessed retrospectively, but there is potential for missed cases due to validity of measurement (inaccurate recall, lack of baseline measurement for comparison)
- prospective assessments are better: standardized, timely and comprehensive, allows identification of individuals in need of treatment for suicidal behavior, enables pooled analyses
