Define data management
Data management is the development, execution, and supervision of plans, policies, programs, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value of data and information assets.

Supporting and handling of:
- ethics
- confidentiality
- security
- consolidation and quality assurance
- backups and recoverability
- compliance with laws
What is the difference between data governance and data management?
management = what you do to handle the data (policies, practices, resources)
governance = making sure that it is done appropriately (training, providing resources, planning)
Define privacy
having control over how one shares oneself
Define confidentiality
information privacy, how information about an individual is treated and shared
