what is a family
a system of interconnected lives goverened by strict but unspoken rules (Nichols&Schwartz, 2008, p4)
Definition of family
A group of people related by blood or marriage, who usually reside in the same household. This includes gay couples, single parents, foster children, ABS at least one person in the family has to be 15 years or older

Patern or a model (Beleifs, ideas or values)
Enabled Family
Individual and group needs are blanced

Individual needs met at the expense of group needs other families needs

set of rules can be overt or covert, assigned roles, Have a power structure, shared history, sense of purpose, can grow, change and repair
what is resilience in families
a families ability to thrie and maintain relative stability psychologically and physically under adverse conditions
