Roughly 40% from alcohol and smoking.
NICE Principle 1
Deliver population-level policies, interventions and programmes tailored to specific, health-related behaviours.
NICE Principle 1 can include:
Fiscal/legislative interventions. National/Local advertising. Sector organisation to offer info/price reduction.
NICE Principle 2
Invest in interventions and programmes that identify and build on strengths of individuals and communities and the relationships within these communities.
NICE principle 2 can include:
Support of local organisations that create opportunities for local participation in leisure and voluntary activities.
NICE Principle 3
Commissioners, service providers and practitioners working with individuals should select interventions that motivate and support people.
NICE principle 3 can include:
Plan people’s changes of easy steps over time. Recognise how their social contexts and relationships may affect their behaviour.

What does motivation depend on?
Seeing the value of change and having faith in your ability to manage the change.
What does self efficacy mean?
Belief in own ability to change.
What does SMART goals stand for?
S = Specific M = Measurable A = Achievable R = Realistic T = Timely

If they expect a positive response from those around them. If they perceive that the change will co-incide with their image. If there is a great social pressure to change.
