A

language used to precisely describe the human body, its components, processes, conditions affecting it and procedures performed upon it

    * Prince of physicians
    * First to understand science was the basis of all dzz
    * built upon foundations of Hippocrates teachings
    * dissected monkeys and named body organs using Greek terms
  2. Adrreaus Vesalius b 1514-1564
    * first to disect humans
    * father of Anatomy
    * developed from work of Galen
    * published the Human Corpora Fabrica(1st comprehensive MT book)
    * named organs using the number system
  3. Jacobus Sylvius 1478-1555
    * built further on the work of Vesalias
    * adding descriptive terms to the human organs
    * Father of MT
  4. Mixed terminologies
    * Due to an increase in med school hence more published books
    * combined the Vesalias numbering system and the Sylvius descriptive system, therefore more confusion
    * Most books were Latin
  5. internationalisation
    * starndardization of MT
    * Nomina Anatomica- attempt to starndardize MT by group of scientists.
    * instilled all the 3 languages
