Mechatronic

End effector
The ‘hand’ or tool of a robotic arm
Gripper
The most common end-effector, usually a simple 2 or 3 fingered hand that can grip objects
Manipulator / Manipulandum
Robotic arm, usually equipped with a gripper
Degrees-of-freedom
Ways in which a motion can be made.
Omnidirectional
Able to move in any direction.
Kinematic
Regarding positions and velocities
Dynamic
Regarding forces, masses and accelerations.
Control
Controlling the movement of a robot.
Biped
Two-legged robot
Quadruped
Four legged robot
Quadcopter
Four propeller drone
Joints and links

Actuation
The device/principle used for producing motion.
