Skin, Hair, Nails, Sweat Glands, Oil Glands

Protection, Temperature Regulation, Detect sensations, Waste Elimination.

Bones, Joints, Cartilages
What are the functions of the skeletal system?
Support and protection, storage of minerals and lipids, muscle attachment,
What are the components of the muscular system?
Skeletal Muscle
What are the functions of the muscular system?
Enables movement, Generate Heat, Stabilise body position
What are the components of the Cardiovascular system?
Blood, Heart, and blood vessels
What is the function of the cardiovascular system?
regulation of temperature and water content, defence against disease, repair of tissues. Transport of substances.
What are the components of Lymphatic and Immune systems?
Lymphatic Fluid, Lymphatic Vessels and lymph nodes. Bone Marrow, Spleen, Thymus, Tonsils
What are the functions of the Lymphatic and Immune systems?
Returns Proteins and fluid to blood, carries lipids from GI tract to blood, protects against disease and cancer.
What are the components of the Endocrine system?
Hormone producing glands. e.g. adrenal gland.
What is the function of the endocrine system?
Co-ordinates body function, release hormones.
What are the components of the Nervous system?
Brain, spinal cord, nerves, special sense organs
What are the functions of the nervous system?
Detect stimuli and initiate muscle contraction.
What are the components of the Respiratory system?
Lungs, Pharynx, Larynx, Trachea, Bronchioles and alveoli.
