lecture 1 Flashcards
what is precision and how is it usually reported?
it is the reproducibility of a set of measurements and is normally reported as standard deviation
s= √(Σ(xi-x)^2/(n-1)
what is accuracy and what is the calculation regarding accuracy
It is how close a measurment is to its desired or therotical value and is reported as percent error (= Actual value- expected value/expected value x 100)
what are 5 factors that can help in determining choice of method?
- precision and accuracy
- reporducibility
- econmic
- offical approval
- sensitivity: ability to detect at low concentrations
What are the three main international standars and policies
- GMP (good manufacturing practices)
- HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control point system)
- ISO
order the three international standards and policies from 1 bare minimum, to the your doing the most
- GMP 2. HACCP 3. ISO
Explain GMP
is the minimum food saftey standard that any business should have
exaplain HACCP
Is a food saftey system that prevents food from being compramised by preventing and controlling for risks
explain what ISO includes
Includes GMP, HACCP, and other requirements like managment review, internal audits etc.
