Q

Features of probability sampling

Random / Representative Sampling

A
  • the population needs to be precisely defined or have a finite number of elements.
  • it cannot be used for a poulation that is too general a category
  • every member of the population has a known non-zero probabilty of being selected.

Q

Merits of probabilty sampling

A
  • inferences drawn from sample are generalisable to the population
  • ## it reduces the chances of systematic errors
