Lecture 06 Research Methodology 2 Flashcards
Design and Technique
A technique is a combination of
sampling, data collection, and data
analysis methods used to implement a
particular design.
Unstructured Observation
A qualitative or exploratory technique in which the researcher observes all the behaviors usually in their natural setting and then seeks to analyze them later.
Depth Interview Technique
The depth interview is an exploratory research technique in which an interviewer examines a topic in depth with a single individual.
Focus Group Technique
It uses non-probability sampling, unstructured data collection, and nonstatistical data analysis.
Structured Observation
This a descriptive technique in which the
researcher uses the senses e.g. sight, and hearing, to collect data from human or non-human subjects.
Random Sample Survey
The RSS is a descriptive research technique in which data is collected by means of a questionnaire consisting primarily of closed questions administered to a subset of a population.
Convenience Sample Survey
A descriptive research technique in which data is collected by means of a questionnaire consisting primarily of closed questions administered to a subset of a population.
