theory of reconstructing irrational behaviour
clients create emotional reactions/dysfunctional response
- stem from irrational beliefs
- have the ability to change their reaction/response
- Must recognise/identify irrational belief
- must see value is disputing these beleifs
- change = hard work
- ongoing practice of CBT/REBT through life
Therapeutic Techniques of RBET
multimodal and integrative approach
tailor suited to individuals
emphasis on cognition rather than emphasis on affect
Cognitive Techniques of REBT
