Lec 2 Flashcards
Normal bleeding time?
2-4 minutes
Clotting time ?
4-8 minutes up to 10
3 Local causes for hemorrhage?
1- Patient disrupts the clot by Ex : ( Forceful Spitting, mouth wash, by finger)
2- Soft tissue or longitudinal laceration
3- Nutritional canal
4- False pressure packs
Systemic causes related to vascular defects?
1- Scurvy
2- Hereditary humorragic telangiectasis
3- Vascular defects from allergic , infective and toxic
influences .
Absence of Anti - Hemophilic Globulin (AHG ) VIII will cause ?
classical Hemophilia (Genetically transmitted by females but only
occurring in males) .
Treatment: Fresh blood
Absence of Plasma Thromboplastin Component ( PTC ) IX will cause ?
Christmas disease (Clinically
and genetically as classic hemophilia).
Treatment: Doesn’t Decompose , Stored blood or serum
Absence of Plasma Thromboplastin Antecedent ( PTA ) XI will cause ?
Hemophilia - like condition (
Hemophilia C )
Absence of Hageman Factor ( HF ) XII will cause ?
Stop Thromboplastin formation ,
But no clinical hemorrhagic defect .
How thromboplastin III formed ?
By interaction of 1-5 substance and Calcium
What cause prothrombin deficiency?
Any interference with Vitamin. K delivery to the liver Ex : ( Poor Absorption, poor intake, Damage of liver by hepatitis)
What Aids in conversion of prothrombin to thrombin ?
1- Factor V ( Proaccelerin )
2- Factor VII ( Proconvertin )
Absence of Factor V ( Proaccelerin ) will cause ?
Para hemophilia
Thrombin formed by what ?
prothrombin + Thromboplastin + factor
V + factor VII .
Fibrinolysin cause :
Produce purpura like condition
How to prevent hemorrhage?
1- proper HX
2- measure INR ( 2-3 )
3- Atraumatic Extraction
4- Curette granulation tissue
