Children need to be cognitively adept to talk about things- they cannot express what they can’t understand
How would Cognitivism look like in data?
Children struggling to say something they are unlikely to understand
Children using adjectives for scale/ colour/ comparing or discussion of things that are not in the scene (object permeance)

What is Social Constructivism?
Children learn rules of language (from listening to adults) and learn to construct it from patterns they recognise
