What does SAIN stand for?
Sexual Assault Information Network
What is SAIN?
Includes the forensic interviewer, victim witness advocate, pediatric nurse, SANE, DCF, police, and mental health counselors
How long do you have to report as a Mandated Reporter?
Immediately orally via phone and within 48 hours written
What is the age of consent for sex?
16 years old
What is the age of consent for touching?
14 years old
What are aggravating factors for rape?
Caused serious bodily injury or, Was part of a joint enterprise or, Occurred during the commission or attempted commission of any of these crimes; Assault w/ deadly weapon Unarmed/armed robbery Kidnapping Armed/unarmed B&E B&E w/ intent to commit a felony
What are aggravating factors for rape of a child under 16 y/o?
Same as aggravating factors for rape as well as the following;
Posing a child in a state of nudity or sexual conduct or,
The victim was given alcohol or drugs w/o consent or,
The crime was committed in a way that exposed the victim to an STD/STI
What is statutory rape?
Natural or unnatural sex w/ victim under 16 y/o
What are aggravating factors for statutory rape?
There is more than a 5 year age difference when victim is under 12 y/o or,
There is more than a 10 year age difference when victim is 12-16 y/o or,
The suspect was a mandated reporter
