Learning And Memory Applications And Theories Flashcards
What is classical conditioning?
It’s an association to a sound or image this is because of neurons made a connection.
This is a neutral stimulus
{Example every time the bell rings you expect somebody at the door}
What’s Pavlov’s dog theory?
This theory is called classical conditioning he found out that every time he would open the cabinet his dog would come for food
he started to give some food every time he rings the bell, the dog responds by wanting food
What is operant conditioning?
•The association of a good or bad consequence with one of our actions •This leads to a change in behaviour
There are negative and positive reinforcements
What is a faster way for operant conditioning
Works much better if the response or consequence is immediately followed after the action
{example every time your dog peas on the carpet you spray him then and there not two weeks later}
