Learning Aim A Flashcards
How many physical components are there?
List them?
Six components(6) Aerobic endurance Muscular endurance Flexibility Muscular strength Body composition
How many skill components are there?
List them?
5 components Agility Balance Coordination Power Reaction time
What is aerobic endurance used for?
Supply’s oxygen and nutrients to the muscles that are working hard. It allows cardiorespiratory system to work efficiently during an activity.
What is muscular endurance used for?
It is the ability of your muscles system to work efficiently, muscles can continue contracting continuously.
How are muscular strength and muscular endurance different?
Muscular endurance allows you to work the muscles for a long period of time without getting tired, muscular strength his working a short period of time with high levels of resistance.
What are voluntary muscle?
They are the muscles attached to your skeleton that help you produce the movements you make.
What is flexibility used for?
Gymnast ,
All round flexibility some spotters may need flexibility in more specific joints.
List me all 5 types of stretches ?
Static Ballistic Static Passive Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF)
What is speed?
Speed can be defined as: distance travelled ➗time taken =speed (m/s)
What is accelerative speed?
Performer will accelerate during an activity to his or hers top speed.
What is pure speed?
Events like 60m are all about speed by achieving time.
What is speed endurance?
Athletes ability to sustain maximum ,or near maximum over a prolonged period of time with short periods of recovery.
What is muscular strength ?
It is the maximum force-measure in kilograms or Newtons taht is generated by muscles.
What is agility?
It is the ability of a sports performer to quickly and precisely move or change direction without loosing balance or time .
What is static balance?
It is maintaining balance in a stationary position.
Example:Handstand
What is dynamic balance for?
Dynamic balance is maintaining balance while in motion .
What is coordination ?
Ability to use pets of your body together.
What does RPE stand for?
rate per exertion
Percentage for each exertion ? 50% or less 50%-60% 60%-85% 85%-100%
Warm up and cool down zone
Fat burning zone
Anerobic zone
Aerobic zone
How to calculate where there bpm should be in between??
230-(age)
Find 60% of that
Find 80% of that
Between them
What is specificity?
Matching training to the particular requirements of your activity.
Making sure that it is relevant to your sports or the fitness goals you are trying to achieve .
What is progressive overload?
Training must get more demanding over time ,for the body to adapt.
What is important about progressive overload?
It has to be done gradually to reduce risk of injury x
What principles does progressive overload gradually increase?
Frequency
Intensity
Time
What is training plateau ?
This is when an athlete or performer train the same intensity over and over again ,for a period of time ,their body will become used to this load being placed on it.
Name types of training?
- circuit
- fartlek
- continuous
- interval training
- plyometric training
What is validity and reliability?
- how accurate a set of results is.
- carrying out same test and expecting comparable results each time.
When to measure makes with skin fold test and where to measure females?
Makes-chest,thigh,abdomen
Females-thigh,tricep,hip
What units is body mass?
Kg/m2
Formular to find body mass
Body weight(kg) ~ height(m)x height (m)
