Learning Flashcards
1
Q
List each kind of learning
A
Behavioural learning Cognitive learning Social learning Operant learning Stimulus learning
2
Q
What is social/observational learning
A
Learning that occurs through observing the behaviour of others and links to memory and recalling
3
Q
What is Stimulus discrimination
A
Process whereby a person learns to respond to a stimulus differently that to other similar stimuli
4
Q
What is cognitive learning
A
Emphasis on problem solving and achieving goals
5
Q
What are the two types of behavioural learning?
A
Classical conditioning
Operant conditioning
6
Q
Describe the three steps of classical conditioning
A
- A stimulus (unconditioned) which produces an almost certain response (unconditioned) in a subject
- Some other (conditioned) stimulus is associated with the unconditioned stimulus
- After the two stimuli have been associated several times it may be possible to elicit the same response as earlier (now called the conditioned response) with only the conditioned stimulus
7
Q
What is operant conditioning
A
Consequences leading to changes in voluntary behaviour
