They are scared that if they dont, he will kill/harm them
Why did Golding choose to have Jack and Ralph as leaders?
He did this to reflect the war that was going on in the adult world and show the difference between democracy and dictatorship.
What is the use of “Ceased to exist” in the quote “The conch exploded into a thousand white fragments and ceased to exist”?
It shows that democracy between the boys is complete gone in an extremly violent way and the bnoys will descend into savagery.
