Describe Governing Body
If a limited liability partnership, a corporation, or political subdivision operates the RC/AL facility, there must be an organized body that is legally responsible for the overall conduct of the facility. the governing body will develop the mission and vision, establish and maintain administrative policies, procedures, or bylaws governing the operation of the facility.
Describe Management
The governing body, or board of directors, normally hires the administrator and delgeates the day-to-day management of the facility to the administrator. the governing body retains the ultimate responsibility for the well being of the facility. this includes hiring and evaluating the administrator, fiduciary responsibiility, and financial viability.
Describe Operations
If an indvidual or partnershipoperates the RC/AL, the individual or partnership will establish the administrative policies, procedures, or bylaws for the operation of the facility. In some RC/AL facilities, a community advisory board may be used to provide guidance to the administrator regarding the appropriate policies and procedures for administration of the facility.

Describe Authoritarian or autocratic leadership.
This style is used when the leader tells his or her employees what he or she wants done and how it is to be done, without getting the advice of the employee.
Describe Participative or democratic
This type of style involves the leader including one or more employees in the decision making process. However, the leader maintains the final decision making authority.
Describe Laissez-faire or free reign
The leader allows the employees to make the decision. However, the leader is still responsible for the decisions that are made.
