A group of trained personnel in the field of public safety. Their goal is to protect, ensure, and maintain public safety, enforce the law, and prevent crimes

POLICE ADMINISTRATION
Also known as POLICE IN ACTION. The goal is to set up objectives, instructions and plans for the police organization
POLICE MANAGEMENT

LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
Refers to an organization that is responsible for maintaining and enforcing the laws. Trained personnel who are responsible and dedicated to enforcing the laws, ensuring the public safety, and preventing crimes

STAFF/ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS
The one that is designed to support the line functions and assists in the performance of the line functions

OPERATIONAL UNITS
The ones that perform the primary line function – they are the ones who enforce the law, objectives, and goals of the organization. Ex: patrolling, investigating, etc.
