LE 2 (TERMS) Flashcards
The method is still widely used as a tool over analyzing travel demand and estimating future traffic flow.
Four Step of Conventional Transportation Modeling
The process by which measures of urban activity are converted into number of trips.
Trip Generation
It involves separating or splitting the predicted trips from each origin zone to each destination zone into distinct travel modes.
Modal Split
It determines the number of trips between zones made by auto or other mode, usually transit
Mode choice / mode split
It measures satisfaction derived from choices.
Utility Function
This allows you to calculate the shortest path between one mode and every node in the graph.
Dijkstra’s Algorithm
Objective of this model is to determine from which zones trip generation are generated, and which zones these trip attraction are bound.
Trip Generation
This is used to estimate the traffic flows on a network.
Trip Assignment
It calculates the probability if selecting a particular mode.
Logit Models
This step calculates the total person trips.
