What is the object of the Sales and Supply of Alcohol act 2012?
- Put in place a new system of control over the sale and supply of alcohol
- Reform more generally the law relating to the sale, supply, and consumption of alcohol to help achieve this act
What are the National Maximum Trading hours for the following three licences? On, Off and Club
On-licence -8am - 4am the next day

What three things could cause a Licensee to have their licence varied, cancelled or suspended?
- The licensed premises have been conducted in a beach of any of the provisions of this act or any conditions of the license or otherwise in an improper manner
- The conduct of the licensee is such as to show that he or she is not a suitable person to hols the license.
- The licensed premises are being used in a disorderly manner so as to be obnoxious to neighbouring residents to the public
How long can someone act as Acting Manager for during the year?

How does the Sale and Supply of Alcohol 2012 state that you must display you name as General Manager?
At all times, while on duty at any licensed premises the duty managers full name must be prominently displayed inside the premises, so it is easily readable to the people using the premises
What is an Incident or Log Book?
An incident or log book is a book/ diary which details all incidents that have happened on or near your licensed premises. The log book is kept at the premises and records information regarding any incidents providing evidence that protocols have been followed when dealing with issues that may occur.
Give three occasions that you would use an Incident or Log Book:
- Theft
- Fire or ambulance call outs
- Assaults
How long is the standard drink up time? Explain what this means:
The standard drink up time is 30 minutes, meaning all customers must leave the premises before the 30 minutes is up, and no more alcohol is to be sold. if the license ends 1am that morning then all patrons must vacate by 1:30am
On what four days can Off -licences not open their premises or deliver alcohol?
O ff licensed premises can not open or deliver alcohol or Christmas day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and ANZAC day up until 1pm
On restricted trading days when can an On-licence be open? Explain.
Hotel and Tavern style on-licenses can only serve alcohol on these restricted days to accomodation guests and patrons on the premises intending to dine. Licensed premises must close on the 12am before the restricted days. If your license usually ends at 1am, you must close at 12am on the restricted days.
Who can be in a supervised area?
Anyone over 18 but patrons under 18 must be with a Legal guardian or parent

Define what an On license means
On-licence (eg, pub, tavern, hotel, restaurant, cafe, bar, entertainment venue, train, plane) allows the sale or supply of alcohol for consumption on the premises.
Define what an Off license means
Off-licence (eg, bottle store, supermarket) allows the sale or supply of alcohol for consumption off the premises.
Define a Club license
Club licence (eg, sports club, RSA, working men’s club) allows the sale or supply of alcohol for consumption on the club premises to members of the club, their guests and members of other clubs with reciprocal visiting rights.
Define a Special License
Special licence (eg, for a food and wine festival, wedding in a council hall etc) allows the sale or supply of alcohol to anyone attending an event, private function, street party, sporting event. Special licences can be either ‘on-site’ for consumption on the premises, or ‘off-site’ for consumption elsewhere.
