LCA Flashcards
What does LCA mean?
Life-Cycle Assessment
What is LCA?
A process that looks at products from the perspective of their overall environmental impact
What does DFMA mean?
Design for manufacturability and assemby
What is DFMA used for?
Its used to analyze how products are desined to ensure that the minimum number of components have been used and where possible, that standard components have been used

Quality is a position that ensures the standardization of produced pieces
What is a functional unit?

What is life cycle inventory?
An account of all materials used to produce, use and dispose of a product
What is the third step of LCA analysis?
Impact assessment
What is impact assessment?
Investigates the environmental impact of a product throughout its lifespan, cradle-grave
What is the fourth step of LCA analysis?
Report the results, improvement assessment
