It’s clear from the title that a happy marriage is not in store for the couple at the end of the poem.
It gives us a description of the married life, and the lack of relationships.
In the end, they separated from each other.

In the end, because of difficulties and differences, the couple separated.
They had no solutions to the problems,
and because they had different desires in life, they separated.
This is an unsatisfactory ending, in a way, because they had to the end their relationship.
They had unresolvable problems that ended their relationship.
