Laws to learn Flashcards
Boyles Law
Boyles Law states that at constant temperature, the volume of a fixed mass of gas is inversely proportional to its pressure
The Law of flotation
The law of flotation states that the weight of a floating object is equal to the weight of the fluid it displaces
Archimedes principle
Archimedes’ principle states that when an object is immersed in a fluid, the upthrust it experiences is equal to the weight of the displaced fluid*
Newtons Law of Universal Gravitation
states that any two point masses in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Newton’s second law of motion
states that when an unbalanced force acts on a body the rate
of change of the body’s momentum is directly proportional to the force and takes place in the direction of the force
Principle of conservation of energy
states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can only be converted from one form to another
