Authority is internalized but not questioned, and reasoning is based on the norms of the group to which the person belongs.
Conventional Morality
At this stage, children recognize that there is not just one right view that is handed down by the authorities. Different individuals have different viewpoints.
Stage 2 Individualism and Exchange/Instrumental orientation
This stage when The child/individual is good in order to avoid being punished. If a person is punished, they must have done wrong.
Obedience and Punishment
People at this stage have developed their own set of moral guidelines which may or may not fit the law. The principles apply to everyone.
U universal ethical principle
This stage that the individual believe the important of law but they should be flexible for the better good
Social contract and individual rights
It is a level that the individual judgement is based on the self chosen principle and moral reasoning is based on individual rights and justice
Post conventional morality
At this stage that individual are now focus on maintaining law and order

This stage when a child act in their own interest are benefits

Brent stands up to a teacher who is treating a student unfairly, even though it could get him in trouble.

Brent tells his friend not to vandalize school property because they might get caught and suspended.

Ethyl agrees to follow the rules of a group project because he believes working together requires everyone to be fair and follow the same guidelines
Maintaining social order
Brent chooses not to hit his younger sibling during an argument because he doesn’t want to be grounded by his parents.
Individualism and exchange orientation
Brent helps out at home with chores without being asked because he wants his parents to praise him for being responsible.
Good interpersonal relationship
Brent returns a lost wallet he found at the park because he believes it’s the right thing to do, even though no one is around to see him
Universal principle orientation
Brent decides not to shoplift, even though he wouldn’t get caught, because he believes stealing is inherently wrong, regardless of the consequences.
