Law Of Motion Flashcards
Use with a description of motion only without the factors which tend to cause changes in the motion of bodies.
Kinematics
Includes study of factors like forces and physical properties of the bodies which affect the motion of these bodies.
Dynamics
Continuous process of which the body undergoes change in position or place with respect to a reference point.
Motion
Motion of bodies or the kinematics of particles moving along a straight line.
Rectilinear motion
The change of velocity per unit time.
Acceleration
Change in distance over change of time.
Speed
Direction and is the vector counterpart of speed.
Acceleration
Every particle in the universe attract each other. The gravitational force is directly proportional to the product of the masses of the particles and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Law of gravitation (newton)
Any objects or body released from rest.
Free-falling body
Distance north or south of the equator express in degree 0 to 90° with 0° being the equator and 90° the location of the earth’s poles.
Latitude
Height above sea level
Altitude
Nature of the subsurface materials are:
(water-3/4 ; dry land 1/4)
a.) Water
b.) Soil
c.) Rocks
More massive; compact; will experience greater pull of gravity attraction is greater.
Rocks
Info
Fnet sometimes known as unbalanced form means two forces are no longer equal.
A body will remain at rest and a body in motion will continue to move with constant speed or velocity along a straight line unless acted upon by a net external force.
