How does delegated legislation happen?
A
Parliament passes an enabling act which gives the right to create one of the three types of delegated legislation

Orders in council (made by who and what are they?)
A
- Made by the privy council; made up of the prime minister and other leading members of government
- Allows government to make laws without going through parliament
- On matters such as transferring responsibility between government departments

What are statutory instruments?
A
- Made by government ministers
- They are given authority to make regulations for areas under their particular responsibility
