A
A practice in medieval England where someone would call for help in pursuing a suspected criminal. Anyone who heard the call was obliged to help

A group of ten men who were responsible for their behaviour. If one committed a crime then all were responsible to take him to court

If one person from the group broke a law, the other members would be responsible for taking them to court or paying a fine.
