What is Power? What is Authority?
You may have the power to do something but not the authority. Power is the illegal way of forcing things. Authority is the legal way of forcing things.
What are the three different governments in Canada?
Municipal - towns or cities
Provincial - the provinces
Federal - country
What is out municipal person?

Municipal - mayor is Grant Greenslade
Provincial - MP was David Anderson(Conservative) - is Scott Moe (Sask Party)
Federal - PM is Justin Trudeau (Liberal)
Why might it be necessary to have such a complicated system?
Canada is too big Government is complex Many cultures Too much work Corrupt
What is a democratic monarchy?
Democratic monarchy means we vote but the queen is in charge to the Governor General.
What is majority rule?
Majority rules is a way of fast voting. If you think yes you put your hand up and no you keep it down. The one with most hands wins. One more than half of the group.
What is consensus?
Everyone has to agree on that idea/opinion by compromising and persuade them.
What does the Queen/ Governor General do?
They approve all of the laws and things that have been changed.
What does the legislative branch do?
They make rules and laws
What does the executive branch do?
They research rules and laws, give suggestions and enforce laws and rules.
What does the judicial branch do?
Court system. If law is broken or unfair they punish and change them
Who is our governor general?
Julie Payette. Chosen by queen and approved by PM.
Why can voting for just MPs be that bad?
We care about our PM not the MPs
Why can the prime minister call another election if he feels he does not have control over the MPs?
He calls the election because they aren’t getting or changing anything and he siping has no power.
What is it called when the MPs change the PM? And why does this happen?
The vote of non-confidence.
They think they have a bad PM.
