Why are laws important?
- Keep people safe and protect people
- Act appropriately so they don’t hurt themselves or others
- People can access rights
- Solve conflicts

Recommendations that guide for best practices and behaviours
What is policy?
A set of guidelines or rules by an organisation
What is a procedure?
An official way.
What are rules?
A statement giving people instruction on what they should do or how they should behave.
What does The Equality Act 2010 help prevent?
Discrimination against people based on protected characteristics.
What does The Children Act 1989 focus on?
The safeguarding of children.
What does maintaining good hygiene help prevent?
Accidents and hazards.
