4 alternatives to going to court

  • arbitration: where an experienced arbitrator makes a decision about a dispute. both parties make a legally binding decision to let the arbitrator settle it in case of an event
  • conciliation: conciliator assists parties in reaching a resolution and suggests how to solve a dispute
  • mediation: mediator assists parties in resolving a dispute e.g. family law
  • ombudsmen: complaints infrastructure. normally small complaints
