they are used like adjectives to describe a noun
they change their endings to match the noun in three ways:
number (sing/pl)
case (nom, acc, etc.)
gender (m/f/n)
perfect passive
perfect passive= ppp + present sum
portatus sum = i was carried/ I have been carried
portatus es = you have been carried/ you were carried
portatus est = he has been carried/ he was carried
portati sumus = we have been carried/ we were carried
portati estis = you have been carried/you were carried
portati sunt = they have been carried/they were carried

pluperfect passive= ppp + imperfect sum
portatus eram = I had been carried portatus eras = you had been carried portatus erat = he had been carried portati eramus = we had been carried portati eratis= you had been carried portati erant = they had been carried
