Late Period Definition
Longer than 28-30 days, consecutively 3 months, cycle can be 40-50 days long
Etiology - 5
1) chronic illness, excessive physical work
2) irregular diet, exposure to cold and damp, inv of cold
3) hereditary KD weakness
4) emotional stress
5) following birth control pills
Pathology - 4
1) Blood xu 2) cold in the uterus 3) KD yang xu 4) qi stagnation
Blood Xu sx
Late and scanty periods, pale menstrual blood, dull-pale complexion, blurred vision, dizziness, palpitations, insomnia T: Pale and Thin P: Choppy

LU 7, KD 6, KD 13, LV 8, ST 36, SP 6, BL 20, BL 23, BL 17
Cold in Uterus - Full Cold SX
Late periods, scanty bleeding w/dark blood and clots, painful periods, abdominal pain which is relieved by the application of heat, worse w/pressure, feeling cold,abdomen tight on palpation T: Pale, thick white coat P: Full and Tight

Late periods, scanty bleeding w/small dark stringy clots, painful periods, abdominal pain relieved by heat and pressure, abdomen loose on palpation, tiredness, feels cold T: Pale P: Deep, weak ,slow

late and scanty periods, w/clots, irritability, depression, abdominal and breast distention for a long time before period begins. T: Normal or slightly red on sides
