Laser Hair Removal Flashcards
Why is shaving the most temporary
It is only a surface level hair removal, because the hairbulb remains in tact under the skin. This causes you to shave every single day
What is less temporary than shaving and why
Waxing is less temporary than shaving because you’re essentially ripping hair out by the bulb. This type of hair removal is temporary because it does not rip out the bottom cells of the hair bulb.
What can waxing not remove, making hair removal temporary
Waxing cannot remove the tiny stem cells at bottom. Hair will grow back
Why does laser hair removal get permanent results
Laser hair removal is permanent because it removes the hair bulb and the stem cells
What are the three stages of hair growth
Anogen, Catogen, Telogen
This phase of hair growth is “active growth”
Anogen: traditional growing phase of the hair (3-6yrs)
This phase of hair growth is “transition phase”
Catogen: hair is falling out (1-2wks)
This phase of hair growth is “resting phase “
Telogen: inbetween phase (5-6wks)
