Laryngectomy Flashcards
Tumor Staging (Supraglottic)
T1: Limited to supraglottis w/ normal VC mobility
T2: Invades mucosa of adjacent subsite or area w/ normal VC mobility
T3: Limited to larynx w/ cord fixation
Invades one or more of: post cricoid area, PES, PGS, minor cartilage erosion (inner surface only)
Tumor Staging (Glottic)
T1a: Unilateral VC w/ normal cord mobility
T1b: Bilateral VCs w/ normal cord mobility
T2: Invades mucosa of adjacent subsite (supra or subglottis) and/or impaired cord mobility
T3: Limited to larynx w/ cord fixation
Invades one or more of: post cricoid area, PES, PGS, minor cartilage erosion (inner surface only)
Tumor Staging (Subglottic)
T1: LImited to subglottis
T2: Invasion of adjacent subsites (i.e. Vocal cords) w/ no fixation but may demonstrate abnormal mobility
T3: Limited to larynx w/ cord fixation
T4 (Same for supraglottis, glottis, subglottis)
T4a: Invasion through thyroid cartilage, trachea, deep/extrinsic muscles of the tongue, strap muscles, thyroid gland, esophagus
T4b: Extension to mediastinum, prevertebral fascia, encases carotid artery
Nodal Staging
