No larynx = no voicing
Normal voice = 40-60
Alaryngeal speech = 30-45 dB

Laryngeal Cancer Symptoms
A
- Hoarseness = cancer on squamous cells on vfolds make it stiff
- Persistent Cough
- Sore Lump
- Dysphagia
- Unexplained Weight Loss
- Persistent Throat/EarPain
- Dyspnea/Stridor = trouble breathing
- Subglottal Stenosis: webbing around trachea - mimics asthma

1. Electrolarynx
A
Stim. tiss. which stim. air. In non-dominant hand, OVER articulate.
Intelligibility: timing & holding air-pressure
Trouble with fricatives & affricates.
