What are the two types of laryngeal manipulation?
A
ELM:
- grasping the thyroid cartilage between the thumb and index finger, direct the cartilage posteriorly and cephalad until optimal visualisation has been achieved
BURP:
- smooth, gentle pressure applied to the thyroid cartilage in a backwards, upwards and rightwards motion
