“balderdash” - senseless talk/writing, nonsense. Lanyon believes that Jekylls practises are useless and not founded in any science that is worth acknowledging and that his own traditional science is the best way forward.

use of possessive pronoun “my” implies that Dr. Jekyll had a personal relationship with his colleague, which makes his actions even more disturbing. Lanyon fulfils Jekylls instructions all of curiosity not out of care for Jekyll or Hyde
“I wish to see or hear no more of Dr Jekyll”
“wish” implies a strong desire or preference. This is ironic as it foreshadows Jekylls death, suggests that Lanyon can be very ‘black and white’ about his relationships. He and Henry Jekyll were once good friends but now Anyone doesn’t want anything to do with him.
