Pathetic fallacy is when the weather/environment reflects the atmosphere and the mood.

A simile is a phrase used to compare something to another thing. Eg. As tall as a giraffe on stilts.

Personification changes non human objects to have human characteristics.

A metaphor is used to describe something by saying the object is something else.

An oxymoron is when two words with opposite meanings are placed together.
Descriptive verb
A descriptive verb is a verb that gives extra detail. Eg. Sprinted not ran.
