What is a verb?
Verbs are used to describe what some one is doing (doing word)
What is an adjective?
Adjectives are used to describe a noun, which is a person, place or a thing (describing word)
What are adverbs?
Adverbs describe a verb (sometimes they end in ly)
What is imagery?
Imagery is making a mental picture in the readers mind of what the scene looks like
What is a simile
A simile is a comparison, saying something is like something else (like or as words)
Why would the setting interest the reader?
The setting might interest the reader because they might want to imagine what they are reading, where the character is, what the weather is or where the location is
How does dialogue interest the reader?
Dialogue allows the reader to be part of the conversation. It can also make them relatable and maybe find out their personality
How does repetition of a word or an idea interest the reader
It can be important to the future events in the text
What’s a noun ?
A noun is a person place or an thing
What’s an imperative verb?
A word that acts as a command
E.g.
“Open that book” open being the command or ‘bossy’ word
